There are numerous gold-focused exploration companies in the Balıkesir region, particularly at the east of Bigadiç. Here, a widespread dacitic volcanism caused gold mineralisation with silicification, iron oxidation and kaolinisation along NW-SE structural zones.
NW-SE oriented structures crosscut the Oremine Bigadic properties at the north and seem to cause such alteration and a highly prospective gold-silver mineralisation. An active kaolin deposit next to the Oremine Bigadiç licenses also indicate that the area is effected by strong hydrothermal alteration. Implementation of reconnaisance and detailed geocemical studies have been programmed in the area.
