Similar geological formations and alterations seen in the Kepsut area are continuous northwestward into the Oremine Ayvatlar properties. Basic volcanic rocks interclated schists are strongly chloritised, silicified, serisitised and oxidized, particularly in and near the carbonate rich zones. Volcanic rocks represented by andesite, rhyodacidic domes, dykes and pyroclastic rocks cover both southern and northern parts of the project area.
Old iron and manganese mining sites and widespread silicification have been important exploration targets for Au-Ag and other metallic minerals. We have had some encouraging results from these targets on where detailled exploration studies, including drilling have been continuing in the project area.
During the metallic mineral exploration studies we have also come across some important perlite mineralisations in the Ayvatlar Project area. The perlite is related to the rhyolite dykes and covered by volcanoclastic rocks. Technological properties of the perlite have been tested.
